While we would love to be able to make copious amounts of money writing about food, restaurants, recipes, and our travels, the fact is we don’t. Both Jen and I earn our living as mortgage brokers. In fact we are in the top 100 brokers with Scotiabank, the biggest lender in the broker market. One of our passions is most certainly food, but what really drives us is helping our clients make sound financial decisions based on an abundance of information, translated into clear and simple terms. When our clients are able to purchase a home knowing that their best interests were not compromised because they were encouraged to pick the mortgage that was right for them, not their bank or their mortgage broker – when they know they got a great rate without giving up the basic rights a mortgage borrower should have – and when they refinance to save hundreds of dollars a month, thousands of dollars a year, and tens of thousands of dollars over the life of their mortgage – that is when we are truly at our happiest.
